Commerce Bank
– St. Louis, Missouri –
Nestled into the lobby of an expansive high-rise building, the Bank Client was looking to transform not only the look and feel of the space but also the way in which they provide banking. The new bank design eliminates the inhospitable teller line of yester-year in place of new, welcoming “pods” adorned in walnut and durable solid surface provide personal bankers a more approachable location to assist their customers. The Client wanted more brand visibility off of the austere building lobby entry to their space, as well as more visibility from the bustling intersection just outside the 15’-0” soaring windows. A new, illuminated, focal point wall with a nod to the Client’s brand stretches the full height of the bank lobby, giving the Bank elevated presence for all forms of traffic both inside and outside of the building. And, when the back-lit, stretched-fabric wall isn’t working hard at marketing for the Bank, it doubles as an absorbent acoustic solution for the lobby. Materials and finishes were kept clean and sleek with shades of white and gray juxtaposed with rich Walnut wood and a pop of color to support the Bank’s brand. Just past the personal banking pods, meeting spaces with tall spans of glass provide a convenient place to meet with customers while helping to wash the space in the northern-exposure daylight. Additional features to the Bank include an Exploration Center, Hospitality Area and Administrative Service Areas.
